HPV positive, normal cells

Hi

Sorry if anyone has asked this before, I was told at my last smear Dec 21 that I had tested positive for HPV but no abnormal cells were found and to return a year later.

I have had no pain, no discharge, no bleeding. However I also have PCOS so I do not get a period very often and in the last week or so all the symptoms of a period has appeared.

As I don't get them when I do I tend to worry in case it is something else.

Me and my partner slept together on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning I woke up with slight bleeding. At the time I never bled, it wasn't painful etc.

I am still bleeding and in all honesty looks like a period, however the minute I Googled bleeding after intercourse, all sorts of really scary things appeared.

The fact I felt hormonal and as though a period was due, I do think it is just that the period was brought on by the motions of intercourse. But I am still a little concerned.

Can I go from HPV positive with normal cells to cervical cancer in a year with no pain, bleeding etc apart from this one time?

Sorry if I'm a total nightmare, my anxiety is through the roof.

Thanks x
