MRI

I had an MRI yesterday due to a mass on my left ovary. I have a consultant appointment on 21st Dec to see a specialist. However I had a call from my drs today to say that the Dr wants to see me on Monday next week to discuss the MRI results - I'm thinking this may not be good news - has anyone else experienced anything similar?

  • Hello Yarnrainbow and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

I know it's really hard but try not to read anything into the fact your doctor wants to see you on Monday to discuss MRI results as it doesn't necessarily mean it is cancer but that they want to talk to you and discuss the next possible treatment steps. It's good that they are being organised though and that you already have an appointment booked to see the specialist.

I hope that you will hear from others who have been in a similar situation before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

It's normal though to fear the worst and try if you can to resist the urge to look anything up online or it will make you even more anxious at the moment. I can imagine this is a very stressful weekend for you when time seems to be passing super slowly.

We're thinking of you for Monday and hope that it all goes well and that you get some clarity very soon and more information on the MRI results.

    Best wishes,
