Mole Removed-When will I get results?

Hi everyone,

It's one thing after another with me but I had a mole removed for testing on the 19th October and I was wondering when should I expect some sort of result. I haven't got a contact to phone to chase up the results my GP doesn't really know anything. So any advice, or from your experience.

    Hi, I had a mole removed a week after you on the 26th. I was told a 4-5 week wait for results. Depending on which medical facility you had the mole removed you should be able to call either out-patients, rapid access if your appointment was booked with them or dermatology who'll be able to check on the system and advise you of the wait time. It's horrible waiting and not knowing, I hope you get the results soon x

    Another update, it's now been two months still haven't got anything, I called my Gp a couple months ago but they didn't know anything, and now I can't call them because they're merging with other surgeries so everything a bit messed up right now. I don't know what to do. None of my family are helping, because they don't think it's anything serious. I only have the number of the nurses at the dermatology department I haven't got any numbers for the doctor or the consultant. So if any one has any advice it would be great.

    Hi Abbie,

    Results are taking anything between 6 & 10 weeks I'm afraid. Ring the nurses number at dermatology. They will be able to find out if the results are back and when you may receive them. They are allowed to do this so don't think you are pestering them. If you can't get through to them, look on your hospital's website. They should show contact details for the dermatology consultants - these are usually their receptionist numbers. Ring them and they can tell you if the results are back and when you should get them.

    I'm still waiting too. I've just called my hospital. First went through to dermatology then oncology and finally plastic surgery. The secretary has informed me my results are back but need to be reviewed by a consultant as the consultant I saw no longer works for the Trust! She said I should receive a letter in the post with my results or an appointment to be seen in clinic. No idea how much longer it will be though. Maybe try calling the hospital you had your procedure done and ask to speak to plastic surgery, any department will be able to find you on the system and direct you to the correct department. Hope you get them soon.

    Hi Abbie,

    Just here to say I'm too waiting for biopsey results. I was told 5/6 weeks and it's just past 6 now. The wait is honestly just awful isn't it. Every night I find myself on here trying to find posts about how long the wait is and whether anyone has had bad news after waiting so long. I've kinda told myself it must be OK as surely I would of heard by now if it was something to worry about! I'll be glad when I get them! Hope you get yours soon
