CT Scan tmw. Node found on Pancreas when i had a endoscopy

Hello,

This is my first time here. And tbh i dont know where to start. I have been having problems with my gall-bladder,usual very bad pains, wind, gas etc. Was admitted to hospital twice, each for a week. Where i had pancreatitis, had MRi scans, which showed i had an infected gall-bladder, with alot of stones! I had to have a endoscopy 2 months ago, to check the liver and everything else. And i heard the consultant say,can you see the node on the pancreas there.Had a follow up with the consultant to explain the findings, he said he doubts there is anything sinister going on with the node he had found, but will definately have to have the gall-bladder removed. I finally have my opertaion booked for next month. And thought that would be the end of it, and no more horrible pain. But received a letter from the consultant last week, saying he wants me to come in tmw, and have a CT scan, as my results were discussed at a meeting, and said on the letter, that he and and the others think it is likely to be benign. I am so worried, that they will find something tmw. And thought the good news that i was finally having the gall bladder out, after the amount of pain i have been in. Morphine and condeine dont help anymore, that everything will finally be okay and i can live a pain free, well the best can be life. My nan died of pancreatic cancer, and of course I have been playing Dr and goggling like mad. Just so very worried. Sorry if my post is all over the place, but not very good in explaining things. Wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this, or is going to, would be really helpful. im 49 BTW big 50 next year. Thankyou for reading :)

  • Hello Sandi1973 and a big welcome to Cancer Chat,

I hope that your gallbladder operation goes well next month and that it will resolve your issues and you won't be in any more pain.  It's reassuring that they have said at the meeting that it is likely to be benign but I can understand why you are feeling so worried. I am keeping everything crossed for you that you won't have to wait too long for the CT scan results and that it all turns out to be fine.

I am sure that once you have had your operation your quality of life will greatly improve and you won't be in so much pain anymore but it must be really hard for you at the moment as you are waiting for the operation. We've all had the urge to consult Dr Google but it's never really helpful as it is really unreliable and tends to bring up all the worst and least likely cases. So try and forget anything you have read on Google and while you are waiting to be seen, it's best to focus on something you enjoy doing to help pass the time if you can.

I hope that you will from other members who have gone through something similar and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you. It does help to talk to others who have been in a similar place.

I wanted to wish you the very best of luck for your operation next month and I hope that you will recover well and quickly from it and that you will feel a lot better.

    Best wishes,
