Hi,
I am 22 years old and when I was 7 I was tested for bone cancer. I had a growth near my bone on my leg, a lot of bone pain and lost a lot of weight. Thankfully it wasn't cancer and I don't really remember much about that time but it was still very scary for my family.
Last November I started to have pain in my knee. The GP referred me to physio and I had an over-the-phone appointment where they said I probably had essentially a long jump injury and gave me exercices to do which I have done as recommend for a year. The pain has gotten a lot worse since then and has travelled down from the knee to the lower leg, though the knee still hurts. It goes through phases of being okay to do painful I can't get out of bed and the pain is worse at night, frequently waking me up from sleep. The pain also got so bad that I passed out at a concert in May (though I'm sure the heat and excitement didn't help lol). And for the last month or so it has been feeling as though the bones on my lower leg are going to snap, like the pressure of pushing down on pencil where you can feel that it's going to break but it isn't quite snapping yet if that makes sense.
I have contacted the GP since then but they just send me to the physiotherapist who refuses to see me in person and says my past growth near the bone and symtpoms are irrelevant. My mother suggested I go to the minor injury unit but they can't do anything unless I am directly injured by my leg.
So yeah. Simple breakdown of my symptoms are bone pain in my knee and lower leg, feeling like my bone is going to break, a lot of lightheadedness, night sweats, and terrible fatigue.
Am I just being paranoid? What can I do to make the GP/physiotherapist take me seriously or at least see me in person?
I know this forum isn't for diagnostic things or anything like that but I really don't now what else to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
