Bowel cancer

Hi unfortunately I have just been diagnosed with a 20mm tumour just waiting for results from my ct scan and the waiting is awful. I'm really worried that I'm going to end up having a stoma bag

does anyone know if 20mm is big or small tumour

  • Hi! I'm going through a similar situation myself. They found and removed a 3cm polyp a few days ago, that the doctor said looked cancerous. And all my paper work says malignant on them. I've had a ct scan and now have to wait until the 29th nov for my mdt meeting to find out what's going on. The wait is killing me!! I'm not scared of having a stoma or having bowel resections, I'm terrified that it might have spread. I'm only 37 and a single mum.
2cm for a polyp is fairly big, but I've read people in here with much bigger ones. And that have turned out to be nothing serious.
weve gotta just try to keep busy, and think positive I guess!

  • Hi I am in the same situation. I have a 6cm malignant growth but my mdt is the 17th. Ive just turned 60 and feel my world has turned upside down. It didnt help when my doctor signed me off and told me to go and have fun with my friends.  Anxiety is taking over and the 2mg of diazapan is doing nothing.

Lets hope and pray that we all get good cat scans back xx

  • Before this I always thought you'd go for your tests, they'd check then asap and you'd get you results super quick, but in reality it's weeks and weeks!!  from my first colonoscopy where they found my polyp until my mdt meeting it will be 10weeks!! A very looooooong 10weeks!!

  • How did you get on? Hope all is well
