Bowel cancer symptoms

Hi, I'm 37 and need some advice.

Back in 2018 I had blood in my stools and my bowel habits had changed. Had a colonoscopy and had a few polyps removed. As they couldn't diagnosed me with anything they put it down to IBS and sent me on my way.

I always suffered with diarrhoea, stomach pains and the last 6 months I have lost round about 3st. I'm also extremely tired, I'm low in iron and vitamin B-12.

I have an appt for an endoscopy and colonoscopy in 2wks but as I have been reading some sites that advanced bowel cancer can cause a rash which i have had the past year.

My head is all over the place, thinking the worst and the fact that there is bowel cancer history in my family is making me more worried.

Am I thinking too much into this?

  • Hi. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer 2 and a half months ago. I've had a loop stoma fitted and am awaiting chemoradiotherapy on 21st. Ive been told its 60% curative but today had a bad fever day so told myself its spreading even though they say the chances are low. You question everything wgen you're in this situation. Your symptoms do soubd like the cancer symptoms that id say require urgent attention. What have tgey planned for you so far??

  • I've had 6 B-12 Injections and just got to wait for my appt.

Everytime I eat I get the worse stomach cramps or diarrhoea.

I just feel exhausted all the time

    Good luck with your chemoradiotheraphy.
