Lots of symptoms, no results.

Hi, so I feel like I'm currently going around in circles and no idea what to do.

Last month I had a long period lasting 10 days, off for a week then back on for 8 days, off for 2 weeks and I'm currently on again. This is completely irregular for me but irregular periods haven't been uncommon, Normally it's one small one a month then 2 in a month. Now on my 3rd one in 7 weeks. Apart from that I've had pain during sex for a while but didn't think much of it. On my second period of this interval I experienced stabbing pains in my stomach, pelvic area, lower back and my left leg and they haven't gone since. I've also had bloating after eating, pain with eating, acid reflux,  pain going both toilets, constipation and some blood seen in stool. I've been in hospital and had an ultrasound on my stomach as well as a cervical ultrasound, I've had blood tests, urine tests, been put on painkillers and everything and they've found nothing apart from a small cyst which they've said shouldn't cause symptoms.

I've been discharged and told to change my contraceptive to a coil rather than the implant but that's about it. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had anything similar.

I'm in great discomfort, had to take time off work and it's affecting al parts of my life.

Praying for a response

  • Hi

I am having a similar experience and I really understand how this impacts on one's daily life . I am older than you although on HRT , I have been bleeding on and off over last 10 months . Had ultrasounds , Hysteroscopy and also have polyp which I'm told should not be causing the problem , thankfully 2 negative biopsies .  Also pain , constipation and reflux . I'm due another Hysteroscopy at the end of the month . So still looking for a cause . I m not sure if I can help , but had to respond when I read this . I find eating lots of fruit helps me not get constipated and has helped with pain , I try not to eat too quickly to help reflux and avoid spicy foods . It's not a solution but I take each day as it comes . Most difficult is not knowing what's wrong . Any way , maybe talk it through with your GP or med team and ask how long you need to have coil and when you can expect further review   , I find you have to advocate for yourself .

  • Thanks so much for your response, it's always great not to feel so alone, I figure the next steps is changing contraception and to try and get a stool sample done for me. Hopefully they will find something for us both as not knowing is aggravating
