Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I've had an extremely anxious month waiting for breast clinic and biopsy results after finding a painless large lump in my breast (lower inner area). I am breastfeeding but it didn't seem to be anything like a blocked duct or the usual stuff which I have had before.
The ultrasound couldn't see anything (including the very obvious lump so don't think it can be relied on too much - apparently it can be tricky and unreliable with a lactating breast) and my biopsy has just come back as "normal lactational tissue" with me being discharged.
I am obviously very relieved and grateful for this news, however I am struggling to understand how this massive bumpy lump counts as normal.
I feel like further investigation is needed to understand what is going on but don't know if that is reasonable or what exactly I can ask them to do. I am feeling paranoid that the biopsy missed the relevant area or something but realise this is rare.
When the doctor did the biopsy he said it oozed a bit and the lump did feel like it had some cystic elements on the top. I am confused about how that is normal too.
If anyone has any suggestions or experiences I would appreciate hearing.
Also I am really sorry if this is an aggravating post for anyone receiving bad news. I am grateful for the reassuring biopsy news just also feeling like things still don't make sense and so I don't want to be complacent.
Thank you xxx
