Mums ultrasound on ovaries clear, symptoms persist

Hi there I posted a while ago about my mums ovarian cancer worries. She has now had her ca125 as normal and her ultrasound has come back normal.

she still has low pelvic pain and bloating, the Dr said her intestines are also in the pain zone. She is now waiting on an endoscopy. She still looks visibly gaunt especially her arms and legs look thin.

the Drs still have no idea and this has been going on since July. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? It feels like the Drs are writing her off as having anxiety again (hopefully that's all it is but the visible weight loss seems dramatic for that)

kind regards Nina

  • It's great to hear your mum's ca125 and ultrasound results brought good news although I'm sorry to hear her symptoms are still persisting.

I really hope the endoscopy she's due to have will finally give you both the answers and peace of mind you're seeking, but until then, I know this period of waiting will be a very tough and anxious time.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to offer their support and advice but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses, they'll be available next week on 0808 800 4040 between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're thinking of you Niina and hope everything turns out o.k for your mum.

  • I had a ct colonoscopy due to weight loss, bowel changes, ie going more often  and pain on my left side it showed unexpected complex solid ovarian cysts, maybe your mum could be helped having one of these as they show the abdomen and highlight problems. I was referred on to  gynaecology oncology and had the cysts and overies removed as due to my age they could be precancerous

l hope your mum is helped by the endoscopy it highlights the gastric system, if nothing is found hopefully they will look further

    take care
