Hi,
I posted the other week but wondering if anyone had any advice as my mind is working overtime. A relative has had two different types of BC, triple negative in 2018, and a separate one last year, I can't remember the name of it. Her treatment for TN was mastectomy followed by chemotherapy. All clear given. Last year it was mastectomy followed by letrozole as it was a hormone receptive cancer (no chemo necessary) just the letrozole to prevent cancer returning for the next five years. No reconstructive surgery.
fast forward to a few weeks ago when relative explained they felt sore between the sites of the two mastectomy scars (sort of in the middle where there would be no breast if they were still there). Visited GP who said couldn't feel anything much and could be scar tissue knitting back together. Days later I felt the site, which had a faint scar, and it felt like a lump but was big and a bit squishy. (Sort of swollen) Relative has phoned macmillan nurse who said it doesn't sound serious from describing and has an appointment at breast clinic this week, but I keep thinking this is cancer. I am trying to convince myself that it's scar tissue but it's well over a year since surgery and I can't help but feel like if it's the cancer, it's game over. Have been told before not to worry and it's always been something to worry about...so it's where i automatically go.
Anyone been in a similar situation? What was the outcome?
sorry for the essay TIA
