Bleeding for nearly 3 years! Has anyone else had this?

Just wondering if anyone has symptoms like mine.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2015 and miscarried that same year. Since then my period has gone from bad to worse to unbearable. I have now been bleeding constantly and non stop for nearing 3 years.

About 2 ago i was referred to the hospital who didnt even examine me just said oh pcos you need to loose weight. Then after complaining i was given a pap smear and told to be on my merry way.... the bleeding continued.

Now, i have had no choice but to go back again and been told my wait time for an appointment that has been labelled urgent is 45 weeks! God knows what damage is going on down there and i am scared.

If i move around it makes my bleeding crazy heavy, if i stay stationary and i mean literally bed bound it eases but does not stop. I have a wart down there, just the 1 which the dr has advised is just a wart i can get removed... although swabs over it tested negative for genital warts.

I would like to know if anyone else has had any experience with non stop bleeding for years on end. What was it? How did you stop it?

  • Hello Saphirone,

I hope that you will hear from others who have had the same symptoms as you and that they will share  their experience with you. Poor you bleeding non stop for three years - it must have been rather unbearable for you.

It's incredible that your waiting time for your appointment is 45 weeks when it has been labelled urgent. I can understand why you are feeling anxious about it and why you would want some definite answers. I really hope you get this bleeding sorted very soon as it probably impacts on your quality of life. I also hope that you can get the wart removed soon.

Hopefully you will hear from someone soon who has experienced bleeding for years on end and they will have some good suggestions for you. Perhaps it would be a good idea to try and go back to your GP and explain that this is going on for too long and that you don't feel you had a proper examination when you went to the hospital 2 years ago and that you are surprised it is taking so long to be seen. If you feel you would like a second opinion, you can find out more about how to get a second opinion on this page.

I really hope you can get this sorted soon as it sounds rather debilitating to have to deal with this on a daily basis.

    Best wishes,
