Hi I had a small amount of blood post menopause and my womb thickening was 11cm
Following a pipelle biopsy no cancer was found but I was referred for further investigation and a 4cm polyp was removed. The doctor said that it was smooth and he didn't feel feel that there was anything to worry about. The biopsy found endometrial hyperplasia with atypia. I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy and ovary removal last week.I felt this was sensible at my age.The same doctor said that he didn't see anything suspicious and feels that the atypia was confined to the polyp. It's been almost a year of anxiety and I thought I was over googling. I had a look today for reassurance whilst awaiting the pathology. Bad idea !! Cancer is found in a high percentage of biopsies where pre cancerous cells were found in a polyp!
Would a doctor have a good idea if there was any cancer whilst performing the hysterectomy ? Would the pipelle biopsy be considered accurate?
Anyone a similar experience?
