I joined to see if I could get some advice from anyone who has been through the same.
2 weeks ago I went to get my coil removed and a new one inserted at a different Dr's surgery to my own. After removing the coil the Dr asked when my last smear was, this was January and all clear. She insisted I book an urgent smear with my Dr as she could see I had an ulcerated cervix, patches of colour and bleeding on my cervix. She repeated several times I must book a smear and this worried me somewhat. I've had 2 lots of pre-cancerous cells removed by LLETZ in the past 10 years (I'm 43).
I called my surgey and was booked in for a smear yesterday. Thursday my Dr's cancelled the smear as they said no referral from the Dr who requested oneand they can only apparently upload one smear in a certain timeframe on their system.
Yesterday I get a call from my surgery saying they have had a referral from the other Dr and I should hear this week or next with an appointment to go for a colposcopy at hospital. I'm now concerned that it may be cancer.
I've all but lost my sex drive since my son was born 7 years ago but when I do have sex it is painful and I bleed and suffer from backache for a few days afterwards. The past month or so I have been constantly exhausted (I have had a second bout of Covid which I attributed this to) and am sleeping anything from 11 hours a night weekdays and slept for 18 hours straight the weekend before last! I've always been a Night Owl and early riser, so my husband and son have noticed the tiredness. I'm also really snappy recently. To be honest, I've been thinking I have started menopause as I was perimenopausal when I had the coil first fitted 5 years ago.
I've seen conflicting information online so am unsure if cervical cancer is hereditary. My mum had ovarian and cervical cancer and my aunt had cervical cancer. Both have died so I can't ask any questions of them.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Thanks in advance for any replies, I'm going out of my mind with worry
