Rubbery lump on left side of my neck

Hi everyone, I'm lukas and I'm 19 years old, I have had a rubbery lump on the left side of my neck for around a year now  it moves and doesn't feel to hard, although it does feel rubbery, ( I know I should get it checked out but suffer with anxiety so it's a struggle for me ) it seems to get bigger when I poke and prod it, and if I'm stressed or anxious, I'm not sure what to think of it really, I tend to get myself worked up on google about it, it hasn't grown or anything, just goes up and don't the more I poke, and is in a oval shape, any advice much appreciated, thankyou everyone

  • Hello Lukasa12

I'm sorry to hear that you're worried about a lump in your neck. The only person who will be able to give you some proper reassurance will be your GP so whilst I know that it's difficult to make an appointment, it really would be a good idea to talk to your Dr. If you've not already done so then maybe you could raise the issue of your anxiety with them as well.

In the meantime, try and leave the lump alone so that it's not swelling more or feeling sore. Definitely avoid searching Google for information. you won't find answers but it will leave you feeling more worried. There is some good information available on the NHS website that may help with managing your anxiety about this lump.

I hope that you're able to get the reassurance you need soon.

    Best wishes,
