Worried

Wanted to know if it was possible I had a dermoid cyst and simple cyst removed last year from my right ovary (3 Gyni's wanted the ovary removed due to ovarian and breast cancer history/gene in my family - they offered me the test to see if I carried the gun but I didn't want it). The surgeon decided to "save" the ovary and remove the cyst. The dermoid one was tested and came back fine. Since 5 weeks ago Ive had a lot off pain in my low right abdomen and have had spotting on 2 days the 2 weeks later on 1 day.and was admitted to hospital to get it under control, I had an scan which showed a number of small cysts on my ovary. I got sent home with strong painkillers and told to see my GP to go on the pill, saw my GP who wasn't happy and sent me back up to hospital as she wanted a ct scan, the scan wasn't done and I was sent home with more painkillers and told to get the pill, so I phoned my GP again and they won't give me the pill due to migraines. But I'm worried as I'm still in constant pain - disturbing my sleep, I can't work, I can't walk to pick my child up from school, I can't lift (Hoover, washing basket), I've lost 5lb since leaving hospital, I have no energy, low back pain and I can't get anywhere medically so was hoping I could have my mind put at rest.

  • Hello Rach85

I'm sorry to hear about your ongoing health problems and that you've now been left in this limbo land between the GP and the hospital with no real answers or action being taken to improve things for you.

As the hospital has now twice referred you back to the GP it would probably be best to make an appointment to see your GP again. Explain that your symptoms are impacting your daily quality of life and that you want something sorted between the hospital and the GP for this issue to be properly addressed. If you're not happy with the response from the GP then speak to the Practice Manager.

I really do hope that things settle and improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi, sorry I should of put that gp wrote back to the gyni and the gyni messaged me (my health app) to say the GP needs to come up with an alternative, so I did have an appointment with my GP for the 4th time on Friday who I told again my symptoms and said that it's not settling like gyni said, gyni also put on the doctors note that I had a CT scan from a few weeks prior when another GP sent me back up to the hospital a week after me coming out of hospital. I never had a ct scan so she wasn't happy that's been put in my notes and she wasn't happy that they're not investigating it further to get a proper diagnosis causing the pain. So she was ringing them instead of waiting for a reply letter in which the other GP done a week prior. I'm just worried incase it might be ovarian cancer but don't know if it would of been noticeable 18 months ago or if I'm worrying over something that wouldn't develop with symptoms within 18 months period

    * I have no endometriosis since having my hysterectomy.
