Possible Throat Cancer?

Hi,

I would have never imagined coming and writing on here myself, especially at my age however I have a concern that I would like to speak to someone about.
I won't make this post too long so I'll keep it as short as possible.

Between 1-2 years ago I have a blocked saliva gland, from a stone, this swelled my gland/lymph node on the right side of my neck. The GP removed the stone for me, and I never had any symptoms of discomfort after except the fact that my lymph node never went back down fully, it decreased about half the amount. So here I am years later with this lump still, it's hard.
im now getting a tightness in my neck feeling, a constant feel as if something is there when I swallow which is causing me some difficulties. If feels like I have a ball or something in my throat and I feel a sort of restriction, it's hard to explain. I have this constant feeling of uncomfortableness around where the lump is located that doesn't go. These symptoms have been like this for a couple of weeks now, I'm starting to feel a bit of a sore throat today.
I have just ignored it for so long as I work full time and have 4 children I don't get the time and it was effecting me, however now I'm thinking I should get this checked.
I know browsing on the net is not ideal, however I can't seem to find any other diagnosis this could be except some sort of cancer!
I am 27 years old, and my Nan has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer yet she's only 65 and one of the most healthiest people you'd ever meet.
Is this similar to anyone else? If so, I'd like to hear your story.

Thank you for listening.
