  • Hi Sam 1978,I didn't want to read and not message you .I also found a lump in my right breast about 6 weeks ago ,I had a achy pain in my right arm and armpit then a tender breast .I felt my breasts and found a lump ,I kept it quiet for 2 weeks then went to the doctor .I got fast tracked within the 2 weeks to the hospital .At the hospital I had an examination with the consultant then a mamagram and then a ultrasound ,I had 3 biopsies from the lump in my breast and 2 on an enlarged lymph node under my armpit .If you do Need biopsies you will ache and be tender for a few weeks .The biopsie results do take about 2 weeks to come thru .I found the waiting hard and was very anxious .I went for my results Friday and I've got lobular breast cancer ,the lump is about 35mm x 24mm ,I've got to have a mri scan in 1 to 2 weeks time, then surgery ,I'm hopefully having just a lumpoctomy  to remove the cancerous tissues and some of the tissues that are OK. Then I will need radiotherapy. I was on hrt so I've had to stop that so will get the menopause  now .You've done the right thing going to the doctors ,how big fo you think the lump is ?.Breast cancer is one of the most treatable cancers and I'm so glad you've been and got it seen .please let me no how you get on at the hospital x

  • Hi Saz,

The waiting is hard. Hopefully now you're on the 2WW you'll be seen quickly. It's amazing once you're in the system how quickly things start to move. More often than not their is other reasons non cancer related that can cause your symptoms but it's so hard and normal for your mind to go there.

I did the opposite and was in denial while waiting when I think deep down I knew I had cancer. Keep yourself busy, don't go to appointments alone, a friendly face and hand is always a great comfort in tense situations.

I had an achy boob/armpit for a few months but put it down to time of the month. I then noticed a lump one evening, saw the GP and was referred to breast clinic like yourself. I had a mammogram, ultrasound, biopsies then 10 days later I got my results. This all began August 3rd.  I've since had 2 operations, due my 3rd on 4th November and starting chemo end of November.

I hope things work out, keep in touch. Xx
