I had an ultrasound today, as I have a lump where the parotid gland is. I found it strange that the doctor didn't scan over the actual lump - does anyone know if this is normal? When she initially placed the scanner on my cheek and asked where the lump is, I said "it's right below it" meaning she was holding the scanner right below the lump - but it just occurred to me that she may have thought I meant the lump was below it?? I've barely slept in three days, so I'm not at my sharpest and worried I may have miscommunicated.
Does anyone know whether the actual lump should have been scanned, and whether there was an issue with this scan?
