Hi everyone
Had ultrasound scans a year ago. My GP contacted me the next day to say she had my results and they were abnormal. She said the guidelines say to refer to Gynae if the endometrium is 10mm or more. Mine was 9.2mm but irregular and for that reason she wanted to refer me to the Endometrium clinic, which I agreed to.
After googling and coming across the term Endometrial Hyperplasia, I asked at the Dr's if my scan mentioned it and was told it did, so I spoke to a GP. I told him I was concerned as the waiting list was 17 to 20 months and if it was Hyperplasia with Atypia, I was concerned to leave it so long but without a biopsy we wouldn't know. The GP referred me for another scan, said if it comes back the same as the first he will refer me on a 2ww.
In the meantime, I get a copy of my scan and there is much more listed so I ask another GP to put it in layman's terms for me. She contacted Advice & Guidance and said they wanted to see me in hospital urgently for suspected cancer, so now I'm on the 2ww. I have an ultrasound scan this coming Monday, then I believe I will get my results from the Consultant sometime and after that, possible Hysteroscopy.
I've been told even if the scan is ok, they may well do a Hysterescopy due to my family history (3 Aunts who are sisters and a cousin who is the daughter of a 4th Aunt/Sister with breast cancer, 2 in their 50's, one of those Aunts also had colon/bowel cancer and my Nan on the other side had Uterine Carcinosarcoma)
How on earth did you all keep your minds off of it? Does anyone have any experience of 2ww for uterine cancer and tests/order of tests done?
