Urinary tract problems

Hi, I am a 38 year old female who has lichen sclerosus and Clitoral atrophy, for the last year or so i have been suffering with pain in my lower left abdomen, lower left back, left groin, pain feels like its under my hip and aching leg,  i just put it down to my c section scar always had problems with it even though its 15 years old but the last 2 months or so the pain is getting worse and i am constantly peeing with a smell and just feel heavy and bloated. I went to my doctors last Wednesday who done an internal exam and swabbed, she noticed my cervix was inflamed and had some raised spots, she tested my urine and all negative for infections but found blood traces also swabs came back clear for any infections, she said she thinks my left pain is my ovary so she done a urgent referral to gynocologist, i seen gyno yesterday and she done an internal exam and said the raised spots are nothing to worry about as my smear was all clear last feb 2021 and swabs came back all clear no infections. She then went on and said she thinks its problem's with my urinary tract and nothing to do with my ovary as she said she checked my internal scan from last year when i had a polyp in my uterus and said nothing showed up only the polyp which i had removed. So she said she would sort out a scan for my urinary tract.. i left the hospital and on my way home the hospital rung me and said they can do a ct scan next Tuesday, its all being rushed in under 2 weeks i have seen gyno now having a scan and to me its something to worry over. My mum died at 43 from pancreatic cancer so i am a nervous wreck atm and i can't seem to talk to anyone even my husband incase im worrying over nothing but i shouldn't be in this pain. Anyone else suffered or suffering with the symptoms and if you know your outcome bad or good please share. Thank you for reading x

  • Hello welshyb,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. You did well to go to the doctor's last Wednesday and it's good that they did that internal exam and swab. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for your CT scan next Tuesday.

Don't worry too much about it being rushed in under 2 weeks - it's good things are moving fast as there's nothing more worrying than having to anxiously wait for tests for a while. I thought I would share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
