Leukaemia concerns - symptoms

Hi,

I'm a 25 year old woman and I have been experiencing symptoms that could be leukaemia. I have spoken to my gp about these symptoms and they did a fbc blood test a couple of months ago. They didn't really raise any concerns about test results besides low iron and low vitamin d levels. I have an ultrasound coming up too. I have tried to overlook the symptoms but it's impossible when my body is showing me something isn't right. Some of the symptoms I've been experiencing have appeared and worsened over the couple of years. Right now I am having severa aches in my bones in my legs. They can be very painful. I woke up this morning for example made myself breakfast and my bones started aching I could no longer remain standing. I have also had petechiae that has worsened, particularly in my legs and stomach. I have felt extremely fatigue even breathless like this morning. I have had more infections, flus, covid re infections, mouth sores etc. High temperatures, migraines, red patches on my feet and ankles, bruising down legs, all of these symptoms and some some symptoms related to my nerves also. I don't know what to do any longer because my test results aren't raising concerns. I also take my iron and vitamin supplements.

  • Hi,

I'm also 25 having similar symptoms. Really bad bloods so they jumped straight to bone marrow aspiration on the 2nd November.

Have they done blood tests? Is everything normal? I assume with you taking supplements it's aneimia or potential which is why they've started you on them? I'm sure it there were major concerns they'd be taking more extreme measures.

I hope everything is okay and it's not leukaemia.

  • Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about your bloods results. I really hope that it's nothing worrying and I hope that's your bone marrow goes well (:

Last blood test I had was 2 months ago and it came back fine I believe as no follow up. My symptoms are concerning however I am aware that if bloods are okay then leukemia is unlikely. I'm just more worried about the worsening symptoms that seem to match leukemia symptoms. And yep I am taking supplements for low iron etc, thing is my iron levels don't seem to be improving.

Thank you for your reply, you're right. I'll just push for more tests to get to the bottom of what's wrong here.
