Awaiting Diagnosis of Acral lentiginous melanoma

Hi,

I had x3 moles including surrounding area of skin removed from my toe and punch removal to thigh and hip. Suspected melanoma to thigh and hip and Acral lentiginous melanoma on the toe. Its been 3 weeks since moles have been removed and told 4-6 weeks for feedback. The dermatologist advised me she will be contacting me directly with the results when they return.  So I know its early and if I'm honest I've already convinced myself of a positive diagnosis for the toe but keeping positive for the other two.

I don't really know much about Acral lentiginous melanoma if anyone has some insight.

Thank you in advance xx

  • Hi Gee030,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I know the waiting and uncertainty is never easy so I hope you're getting on OK and that it's not too much longer until you find out more.

We do have a little bit of information about Acral lentiginous melanoma on our website. I'm not sure if there was anything else in particular you were hoping to find out, but if so then you may wish to post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum, to get a reply from one of our nurses.

    Wishing you all the best,
