  • Hello Plet87

I'm glad to hear that your appointment has come through quickly. We know that waiting for appointments and tests can be a really anxious time.

There's a good article on the Breast Cancer Now website that you may find helpful. When you arrive at the clinic it's likely that they will take a history and then you will be examined. If the specialist feels it's necessary you'll likely have an ultrasound and possibly a mammogram. Sometimes if an area of interest is picked up during the scans, the team will be able to do a biopsy on the day. This is done under local anaesthetic so don't be too worried. Typically then it takes a few weeks for the biopsy results to be returned to the team.

If you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nruses ahead of your appointment then you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. They'll be happy to offer you some advice and support as well as help you think about any kind of questions you may want to ask.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
