Multiple lumps on neck, desperately seeking advice.

I'm a 28 year old woman who is relatively healthy. I have 2 swollen lumps on my neck about the size of a pea. One showed up 3 months ago under ear side of neck, was about the size of a marble and went down to the size of a pea and hasn’t gone away. The other showed up on back of neck about a week ago and is the size of a pea. Today I noticed that there’s a big lump near my hairline at the back, doesn’t feel like a lump per se, just sticking out and I’m not sure if it’s just muscle or bone and I’m overthinking it because of the others. Haven’t had any colds or infections to cause them.

Don't know if it's relevant, but recently had blood tests done and my platelets were raised and my folate was low as well as my  Vit D.

Seeing the doctor on Thursday about this, but so worried it’s lymphoma or leukaemia :(.

  • Hello nyotauh,

You're doing the right thing in seeing the doctor on Thursday about these  lumps and I wanted to wish you the best of luck for your appointment tomorrow. Your doctor will be in the best position to tell you what it might be and to advise you further on this.

Try not to worry too much or anticipate that it is lymphoma or leukaemia as there are so many other things it could be. I hope that you will hear from other forum members who have had similar symptoms and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

I hope you find out more tomorrow and that you get some clarity on all this soon - everything tightly crossed for you!

    Best wishes,

  • Hello!

Thanks so much for your well wishes. So hard not to worry, but fingers crossed every thing is ok!

  • Just wanted to update people in case they're going through the same thing:

Today I noticed the newest lump (the one on the back of my neck) had suddenly gone down in size! I had a GP appointment today, she could feel the lump on the back of my neck but said she could hardly even feel the oldest one (behind my ear) and that it barely felt like a lump. She felt around my neck for other lumps and couldn't find any, felt my tummy and couldn't find any. She said she isn't concerned, that it's a swollen lymph node and that they can get bigger and smaller at times of stress and to just look out for other symptoms like night sweats, weight loss, etc. Overall I feel relieved that it's gone down as don't think lymphoma lumps tend to get smaller?

    Hope this might help others!
