Lung screening test

Hi,my partner had a lung screening test a couple of weeks ago. Last week he had a call to say they have had an anomaly on his lung. He has a to go to respiratory unit on Thursday for a lung breathing test. It's all happening so quickly feeling scared, could this be just a false alarm he did have pleurisy twice years ago maybe it could be scarring. Sorry for the long post, just wondering if anyone has been in this position. Thanks

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Minhar although I'm sorry about the anomaly that's been found on your partner's lung.

I know this must be very scary, especially when things are moving quickly, but if you can, try not to think the worst. This is always much easier said than done but the anomaly may not be anything as serious as cancer, and as you've said in your post, your partner has had pluerisy before so it could be related to that.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will share their experiences with you soon but if you or your partner would like to discuss any of this with one of our cancer nurses, they're just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

We're here for you Minhar and wishing you both all the best for Thursday.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
