Could this be cervical cancer?

I am 26 years old and have been experiencing a lot of odd symptoms for the last 6 months.

Around 6 months ago I started to have monthly bouts of painful thrush, along with constipation which has progressively gotten worse (once every 5 days). My period have also become very irregular and it has now been 40 days since my last period, I also experience a lot of cramping and sporadic pain in between my hip bones.

four months ago I had to go to hospital because I was in absolute agony from my period, I was experiencing cold sweats and on the verge of passing out. I always used to have painful periods but this was like nothing I have ever felt before.

2 months ago I had a very painful what I presume to be, UTI infections, this was accompanied by urethral bleeding and HUGE grey/green clumps that were shaped like my uterus (strange ridges) and looked almost like rubber but had the texture of wet tissue paper.

I have also been constantly fatigued, having to take a nap in the afternoon despite getting a full nights sleep, I am always very stressed, and I experience very extreme dizziness and lightheadedness most days to the point I cannot see. I feel nauseous every evening (I never vomit). I now also experience very watery vaginal discharge and just feel an immense pressure and heaviness in my stomach.

does this sound like anything anybody else has experienced?

I have never had a smear test before but have one booked privately for Monday.

  • Hello douglas995 and a warm welcome to our forum!

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your smear test on Monday. I hope it all goes well for you and that it will shed some light on what is causing these symptoms. Make sure also if you haven't done so already that you talk to your GP about these issues so that they can be aware of your symptoms and look into all this for you.

Try not to worry too much about it being cervical cancer as this will always be the least likely scenario so stay well away from the temptation of looking things up online as it will only make you anticipate the worst and make you more anxious. I hope that your doctor will be able to give you a full diagnosis soon once they have the results of your smear test.

I will now let our members who may have experienced similar symptoms before come and say hello and share their story with you.

Everything tightly crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern!

    Best wishes,
