I'm sorry you've been having these symptoms. It is so worrying when a test comes abnormal and waiting for further tests is so stressful.

I had a positive FIT test in March and was on an 'urgent' referral list but I was told it could take 5 months.

I then started having period symptoms in June. I was so convinced that I had bowel cancer which had spread to my uterus.

I called my GP as I had lost weight aswell and she moved me on the 2 week pathway. I had a sigmoidoscopy and it turned out I just had haemorrhoids! 

I hope this gives you some reassurance that not everything is cancer. It is still good you have gone to get checked and you should still update the doctors if you get new symptoms. Hope everything turns out fine.

I am 45, so I feel too young (which I know is not the case) and I have too many regrets which I need to sort out. 
 

I have a urology appointment today. They don't know about the fit test yet as we're booked before then to examine the groin pain. Panicking what they might say, as I had an ultrasound the other day and I get the results. 
 

this all feels very disjointed as it is my gp who is dealing with the fit test and colonoscopy, but I also have a urologist looking at my other pains. 
 

just hope I can get through all this. The waiting is killing me, especially as I suffer from anxiety. 

Thank you. I'm 20 and even though I knew it was rare to have bowel cancer at my age, I was so convinced that I was going to die young. Having health issues really does make you realise what's important and to sort out regrets. I hope you do sort them out.

I understand that it feels very overwhelming to have a urologist and GP dealing with different things.

I've been feeling very disjointed aswell. My GP is dealing with bowel problems, my gynaecologist dealing with period problems and physiotherapist dealing with joint problems. I also recently had chest pains which my GP was first dealing with but it got a lot worse so I had to end up going to A&E. 

I then had a face-to-face GP appointment a few days later and felt so overwhelmed as I wasn't sure what to expect. She told me she saw in my records that I've been to A&E and asked about all my problems and said they're probably all interlinked as a result of losing weight. She reopened my bowel investigations so now I feel at ease knowing that if something's been missed, I can find out soon.

Waiting for appointments and results is so stressful anyway, let alone while also suffering from anxiety. What helps me while I'm waiting is writing down all my symptoms and questions that I might want to ask them. Also thinking about what you can control (e.g maintaining a healthy balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep etc) is important but I know it is hard while going through all the stress.

I have my colonoscopy booked for Wednesday. Very nervous. In a lot of pain today and although I realise that could be IBS and / or the low fibre diet it is just adding to the anxiety. Starting to have vivid dreams about losing my family too. 
 

overall never been more scared. Just trying to distract myself as the minutes wind down to when it happens. Hopefully it will turn out ok.
