Swollen preauricular lymph nodes

Hi all,

I've had swollen preauricular lymph nodes on both sides for over 2 months now. I went to the GP and saw a nurse who said they're very little and that if they don't go away to come back. She ran bloods and my MCV and MCH level are above normal. 
I'm really worrying now. I wish she had referred me first of all as it's been over 2 months now. I have a follow up with her on Thursday.

    I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your follow up tomorrow. I hope your appointment goes well and that you get some clarity on what is going on. I can imagine you are worried as this has been going on for over two months now but it sounds like they are being thorough now and I am keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out to be fine and you find out soon what has been causing these swollen lymph nodes. 

    I hope that you will hear from other members of the forum who have been through this before and that they will come and share their experience with you.

    Thank you for the reply.

    The consultant I saw couldn't really find the raised lymph nodes although in the end he did feel one. He said because I'm very slim that you'd be able to feel lymph nodes on me but if I was bigger you wouldn't find them necessarily. He said he felt he could reassure me but that he'd send me for an ultrasound to put my mind at ease. I have that tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to properly switch off from it then. He didn't think my bloods were anything to worry about.
