Worried wife

Hello, my husband is 73, for the last year or so he has had very little warning when he needs to pee, he has had the time he didn't make, he can't stop midstream, then about 2 weeks ago he was very unwell high temp he lost control of his bladder completely, dr came and treated him for a UTI it took a few days for his bladder control back to where it was, he then had a problem with his bowel he had very loose stools.(sorry for the detail).I have seen a decline in my husband over the last year he often says he doesn't feel well but just can't put his finger on it.

we decided to pay to see a urologist, went over the story with him he said there where lots of red flags, so next week he is going to put a camera into his bladder and we are waiting for a CT appointment,

This has really thrown me I am so worried I can't think straight, I think it was when the consultant asked about his weight and my husband said he has lost a stone quite quickly

  • Welcome to our forum Whitestallion,

I'm sorry to hear that your husband has been poorly and that now the urologist decided he needs tests, which I can appreciate must be worrying to you both.

Hopefully, others who have been in a similar situation will come along shortly to chat with you and offer support but until then try to think that you've done everything you could so far. The waiting game can be exasperating though, in which case you might want to consider giving our team of nurses a ring before your husband's next appointment to talk things over. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Best wishes,
