Scared it could be liver cancer

I am absolutely petrified that I may have liver cancer. I really struggle with health anxiety stemming from both my parents having cancer from when I was a child. I am currently 28 and just can't cope with the worry.

I have had elevated ALT levels for a few years they were in the 70s region but I have just had my move recent lover function test back and it's now in the 400s.

I also have really raised ALK levels and GGT levels that are closing in on the 200s.

I have intermittent abdominal pain on the right and it is really tender and painful when pressed (the doctor felt it yesterday). It also feels like there is something there but I can't feel anything massive.

I had my gallbladder out last year which stopped the constant pain but it still comes and goes and my levels did not become normal which is was the hope. The fact my results have increased so dramatically is making me so nervous I literally can't function and I am so worried and anxious all the time. I've had the pain since 2019 and hoped having my gallbladder would be the end of it.

Has anyone been through anything similar?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Escroom and thank you for posting.

I see from your post that you are worried about the symptoms you have and the levels shown by your tests. The best thing to do is to go and see your doctor about these problems. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online forum, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi did you find out what was making your ALT results so high? I am experiencing similar results and worried sick. Hope you are keeping well and you get to the bottom of it x
