Could this be cancer?

Hi everyone,

I'm 52 and thought I'd gotten away with the menopause easily but a few weeks back starting bleeding having stopped my periods 3 years previously.

I've also had other things that I put down to menopause and getting older (bloating, massive weight gain, having to wee at night 4/5 times, tummy pain).

My GP referred me for an internal ultrasound which was so painful but she said that the womb lining has thickened considerably and my left ovary couldn't be seen clearly.

My CA125 results have come back raised.

I'm now due into hospital next week for a biopsy and I'm worried sick. Could this be cancer or am I worrying and it could be something else. I'm too worried to google things but just can't sleep or eat and my poor partner

Any advice or thoughts welcome

  • Try to be calm not easy l know l was in your position last October, l am over 65 l had  bilateral complex ovarian cysts. Found unexpectedly during a colonoscopy,  Pain on the left side, l lost weight and had bowel problems. The scans showed they were both solid and not shrinking. The op took over   4 hours the left overy was difficult to see so they spent ages releasing the extensive adhesions that had been caused by previous surgery.. They took multiple biopsies and fortunately they were benign l am pleased that they removed them. Forget google they only give the worst outcome for everything, l saved it until l knew what was happening.

l hope you have a similar outcome and all is well.

    Take care
