Lump upper right side abdomen

Hi,

I'm new and a little worried about things. I've not been feeling right since April this year when I started getting dizziness and headaches. At the time I put both down to hay fever as I suffer from that bad. Over the months I noticed a few things, including trouble with toilet my bowel movement are very random and started to get aches in abdomen and occasionally felt full and not hungry. And then in August one morning felt nausea after a glass of water and that's been on and off since, can't travel in the car as soon as I do abdomen gets painful and I feel really sick. Still have the headaches and dizziness. I noticed with the headaches I can't lay down flat back of my head feels very tender so I have to sleep propped up and kind of on my side. I've also noticed I burp a lot and am urinating a lot as well, well over 15 times in a day but I don't drink a lot. I thought maybe diabetes but did a test and I'm fine with that. I'm also tired like really tired never have any energy and if I do something even if it's a short walk I'll be exhausted after and need to lay down.

Yesterday afternoon I had lunch just normal crackers and felt sick after. I took something for that but the nausea comes back pretty fast. I noticed yesterday evening a lump in my abdomen on the upper right side, it's a little sore and I haven't noticed it before.

I was putting all my symptoms down to anxiety disorder as it covers pretty much all of them but at the same time deep down I feel like something isn't right. But I have health anxiety and I really really don't want to go to the doctors. My ASD will get triggered and I'll end up having a meltdown. As I feel sick as well I'm not even sure I could get there now.

I did think about calling 111 but I'm not sure. I still have the dizziness and I'm worried I'll pass out at some point.

Not really sure what to think about it all.

  • Hello Lilla and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

I am so sorry to hear you have been feeling so unwell recently and that this has been going on for a while. Unfortunately no one here will be able to tell you what it might be but I hope that you will hear from some of our members who have had similar symptoms before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

I know you mentioned that you are very anxious to talk to a doctor about this but even though you suffer from health anxiety, I think it would be a good idea to flag these issues with your GP. You could also mention that you have very bad anxiety and I am sure that they will have the expertise to help you with that too. You could mention when you talk to the receptionist on the phone that you feel constantly sick and are nervous about making the trip to the surgery and they may have some good suggestions for you to ensure you still manage to speak to the GP about all this.

You could also ring 111 out of hours and see what they advise but it's really important that you talk to a medical expert about this even though it is really hard for you to do so. As you also noticed a lump on your abdomen, you should flag this with your doctor as well as soon as you can.

I hope that you feel better soon and that you manage to speak to someone about all this and that they find out soon what is causing these symptoms so that you get the treatment you need and hopefully things will improve for you. You really can't stay like this though as it sounds really debilitating so make sure you seek help from a doctor when you can.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello Lucie,

Thank you for replying to me and for advising me to go to the doctors. I called today and I'm booked in to see one of the doctors tomorrow morning. I'm a bit nervous but I think you're right I can't just leave this how it is and hopefully whatever it is can be treated and I'll be better soon. The woman I talked to on the phone gave me some tips for travelling and reducing anxiety so I should be OK hopefully. I hope it's not nothing serious, cancer does run in my family but I know lots of things can cause my symptoms so I try not to overtink everything.

Thank you again for your reply and best wishes.

    Best, lilla.
