Colposcopy cin2 hpv hysterectomy???

I had a colposcopy in dec 21, which found cin2 and hpv they did a biopsy and said to come back in 6 months, naughty me it's now 9 months with life getting busy and moving house etc, so have an appointment next week,

im wondering if they will offer me a hysterectomy? I had the loop procedure a few years ago which is why they didn't do anything in December.

I know they take your ages etc into consideration which is what they did in December but I'm so done with having a colposcopy or smear every 6months for the last 6 years. I'm nearly 32 and 100% certain I'm not having anymore children.

anyone else been offered one after recurring cin2/3

  • Hello Funs1ze

I'm sorry to hear that your most recent cervical screening results showed continued cell changes and HPV. From your post, It sounds like this has been an ongoing problem for a number of years and it's understandable that you're both feeling concerned and tired of the routine of regular screening.

The Jo's Trust website has some useful information about recurring cell changes and does mention that sometimes a hysterectomy may be offered.

Ahead of your appointment, you might want to give the Jo's Trust helpline a call or speak with our team of nurses. It may help to get your thoughts in order ahead of the appointment so that you can raise the questions and concerns that you have and hopefully achieve an outcome that everyone is happy with. If you'd like to chat with our nurses they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I do hope that things go well next week.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
