About 5 weeks ago I found a hard lump in my neck, close to my thyroid. Not sure how long it had been there for. Went to the dr who put me straight on the cancer referral. I hadn't even left the drs half an hour when ultrasound rang and had me booked in for 3 days later. Finally got to see the consultant who wasn't happy with the ultrasound report for a start, he was adamant the lump was on my thyroid and not a lymph node as the report stated. I have a 3cmx3cm nodule, with calcification and lymph nodes affected in level 2 and level 5. He told me I needed another ultrasound and a biopsy within the next two weeks and then the results would be within the following two weeks.
I had my biopsy last Monday. The dr who did it wasn't the nicest, he told me he was more interested in the shape than the size or what was in it, but I 100% needed a biopsy (I asked him was he concerned about the shape to which he answered he didn't know) he took about 4/5ml of fluid/stuff from the lump which was a lymph node, told me that it had collapsed and showed me what he had removed. A brown/red coloured (I'm assuming blood) liquid. He also decided to show me the slides he was making.
On Saturday I got another letter from the hospital stating a different dr has requested an us guided neck aspiration. But this letter was printed 2 days after my biopsy? As the largest lump has collapsed what will they do the aspiration on. Do lymphoma lumps tend to collapse when a large amount of fluid is removed. I can still feel the lump albeit a lot smaller now. Obviously I haven't been able to call them to ask them about it.
I'm panicking about results. Since this lump has 'collapsed' I can now feel other lumps on that side of my neck. My neck itself has been achey since he did the biopsy. I've had terrible itchy back for possibly over a year now, been back and forth from the drs about it. It's that severe I literally grab anything I can to itch it. I'm tired all the time, so drained. And have hot sweats throughout the day and night which are progressively getting worse. My bloods came back normal.
sorry for the long winded message I'm just really worried.
