Hello in the last couple of months I've been very distressed about my mum. My mum is 57 , Over the last 7 months she’s lost about 14lbs, she has now started complaining about some pains in her lower abdomen, alternating sides on and off. She is having anxiety and depression swings on and off and She is also feeling bloated on and off (when she eats or exercises it goes away) She has had indigestion for 30 odd years but she has pointed out the lower 'niggling' pain has become irritable in the last 6 or so months.
She has been to the doctors now and they have done some tests to ‘rule things out’ including stool and some blood tests including diabetes and they have been negative.
The doctor mentioned ovaries. She felt her tummy and said 'it feels soft which is a good thing' but my mums niggling pain is coming from the ovary area. She is waiting now for a referral for a vaginal scan of some sort but she has called twice and both times she has been told that it may be between a couple to a few weeks. I have been researching ovarian cancer and this is extremely distressing due to the aggressive of this possibilitie versus possibly waiting another 6 weeks odd for the scan
i am having a real nervous breakdown over this even though my mums Dr doesn't seem worried and my mum doesn't seem to bothered. Am I over reacting? Should I just trust the Dr is fine to do this? Thank you from a very worried daughter x
