I've had this done to me on a Friday night too, years ago.

I was going through a blood issue, and as i was getting in from work, i just missed the call. I could hear it whilst unlocking the door. As i picked it up, it went to the answering machine. My gp closed at 6pm, and this was at 6.30. The message stated I needed to contact the surgery as a matter of urgency, first thing on the following Monday.  One of the worst weekends of my life.

Came to Monday morning, and get pencilled in as an emergency to see the doctor to go over my results. Got in the doctors room, and he told me things were looking great. Whilst that news was good, i was also livid about how this had all panned out.

To this day, i tell all the doctors never to call me with test results on a Friday evening. If something can wait 2 days, then it waits 2 days. I actually have a slight phobia of the phone ringing after that experience if I'm waiting for routine blood results. It all stems from that experience. I was fine before that.
