Benign lump/cancerous

Hi,

Today I visited my GP to which again she is sending me to the breast clinic to investigate my concerns and changes.

6 months ago I found a lump to which they took a biopsy and Said t was benign, which I litcherly nearly thanked the floor I walked on. I'm a very nervous type of person.

This last 3 months this lump has grown to which that alone wouldn't concern me as this can happen but I'm also feeling pain and tenderness around my boob, almost like a tugging feeling. I'm now in a wait to receive my appointment, has anybody experienced a benign lump that has turnt out to be cancer, I know everyone else has different experiences but I dont want to feel like im wasting people's time.

When I asked my GP if I should have anything to worry about she said clinical yes but the breast clinic will be able to help you much more than her.

I'm just looking for other people's stories

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some concerns about your breast health at the moment. You've done exactly the right thing in seeing your GP. Even if you've already had a lump checked if it then changes it's always sensible to get it checked.

It's good to know that your GP has referred you back to the breast clinic. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and the team will be able to give you some reassurance at your appointment.

We know that waiting for appointments can be a difficult time. For many people, it can help to talk things through with someone and I wonder if you might find it useful to chat with our team of nurses? I'm sure they would be happy to offer any information and support that they can ahead of your appointment. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
