Fibrous Dysplasia/Chondrosarcoma/Plasmacytoma

I had a tumour found accidentally during an xray of my chest, the tumour was on my 2nd rib on right hand side. I've since had a CT scam followed by a CT guided biopsy on Friday 16th September. I found the biopsy very painful despite local anaesthetic, and feel a bit sore inside still. I've had no symptoms up until now. I now await the biopsy results, following the CT scan the letter to my GP from the consultant, which I was also sent, gave a possible diagnosis of Fibrous Dysplasia/Chondrosarcoma/Plasmacytoma. I realise it is probably just Fibrous Dysplasia, but has anyone else any experience of this that may help put me at ease?

Thanks

  • Hi Bornworrier1,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you're getting on OK - I know it's never easy waiting for results.

I hope it's not too long to wait until you can get some answers about this. Once that happens, you'll of course be able to get a better idea of any next steps, as well as being able to find specific support as needed.

In the meantime, if anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hello, I hope you have had answers by now. I have had very similar case as yours.I had a tumour found accidentally during an xray of my chest, the tumour was on my 6th rib, I have had my first done CT guided scan, however it came back inconclusive. I now have had my second biopsy  CT GUIDED scan the other day. I now await the biopsy results they should get back to me within 14 working days. I have no pain or lump at all I would be grateful if you can message me to ease my situations.

    Thank you
