Colonoscopy biopsy

Hello I had a stool sample which showed faecal calprotectin levels to be very high. I saw a consultant who referred me for an urgent colonoscopy.

I had this done yesterday and they said the colon looks normal, didn't mention polyps etc but took 8 biopsies.

I have had severe diarrhoea on and off for a year but it's got worse recently. I've lost about 6kg, I've read it there was cancer they'd see it in the colon. I didn't receive very good information after and wondered what the biopsies might show?

I am i. a lot of pain today, had solid stools with blood in earlier which I know is to be expected but excruciating pain when passing wind etc and now having diarrhoea again.  Bad back ache too.

Very confused and feeling rubbish since the colonoscopy.

  • Hi, just wondered how it is for you now? What was the outcome of your biopsy results if you don't mind me asking? I had a colonoscopy Friday and told it looked normal but ten biopsie were taken.
