Can I get my biopsy results before meeting the consultant?

Hi All,

I have been struggling with my bowel which gets worse due to incorrect colonscopy in 2021 and since then I have a belated MRI and a new colonoscopy from which 10 biopsy samples were taken and I am waiting for the results. I have to chase the Gastroenterological Team which hasn't been supportive and they aren't responding to my emails and doen't pick up the phone. As my results are expected to come out on the week commencing on 26/09 I would like to get them and leave this hospital as I am disfunctional because of symptoms and they have booked me a phone -once again- appointment with them for November. What I am living is a hell and I cannot understand why I have to wait so long and cause further damage to my bowel and potential to other parts of gastrointestinal system. Can you please help me with a piece of information regarding the coming results and if there is a way to get them?

    My colonoscopy was through the colorectal team and their nurse rang me with the results after a couple of weeks, l had unexpected ovarian cysts and she referred me to gynaecology oncology. I was seen two weeks later, you could try contacting the colorectal secretary they were a great help when l spoke with them. The gynaecology secretary helped me contact the surgeon and get a date for my operation.

    Hi Susie, Thank you so much for your response.
    I am happy you were supported appropriately, and hope you are well.
    The colorectal team's email seemed to be monitored by a secretary last year but in 2022 an interim replied once. The only thing I can think of is that they don't have a secretary at the moment.
    The weirdest thing is that they didn't ever provided me with their contact details and it was my GP who searched and share their email and phone with me.
