Hi All,
As much as I hoped to never post here, I have spent hours reading through your helpful posts so finally decided to share my story.
I am a 33 year old mother of two (7 + 2 year old) and at the end of July whilst having a shower I noticed what I can only describe as a snake shaped/rope like hard lump in my upper right breast and in my opinion it isnt moveable.
I waited 4 weeks (another period) to see if it changed with my hormones, however it didn't increase or decrease in size so I called my GP to book an appointment and had a two week wait to see them today.
That leads me to today.. The GP felt what I could feel and in her opinion said it feels like three lumps, however she had a quick feel and when I take time to feel it myself and follow it with my fingers it feels like one or two longer shapes joined together/closely next to each other.
She said due to my age and family history she would be surprised if it was cancer and that she thinks it will more than likely be normal tissue but better to be safe than sorry. She has now referred me to the clinic to have it checked and said it should be around a 4-6 wait with the back log.
I'm not sure what I am hoping for from this post really. Maybe some reassurance, hope or someone who has been in a similar situation which I have struggled to find lump description wise.
I'm trying to be rational, but I have cried all day today. I just can't see past that it's a hard, irregular shaped, immovable lump that I hadn't noticed previously.
When I look at the main benign breast conditions they are soft, movable round shaped lumps so I can't see how I would be fortunate enough to fall into this category.
Im sorry for rambling and would really appreciate any words/stories people can share xx
