Pepper - worried whilst waiting for results of stomach CT

Consultant won't give results of stomach CT scan having lost weight and having nausea and stomach pains until a meeting with other consultants next week. Have now been contacted for an appointment for a MRI scan next week. Does this mean they have found cancer? Really worried and can't stop thinking it's bad news.

  • Hi Pepper and welcome to the forum.

Waiting for results is always tough but try not to panic or think the worst about being contacted for an MRI. Easier said than done I know, but sometimes a lot of different tests need to be carried out before the consultants can give you your results.

I hope the advice and tips give in this article will help calm to your mind until you know more but hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will share their experiences and advice with you soon.

If you feel it may help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they'll be available from Tuesday onwards on 0808 800 4040 between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're thinking of you Pepper and will have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,
