Not diagnosed

I have had CT and mrcp scans and it seems to be all clear for cancer. But have mild dilated bile duct and pancreatic duct, and have lost 25 kg in weight, I have been referred to a dietitian for the weight loss, and the doctors are going to have another look at scans just to make sure I have nothing wrong , could it still be that I do have cancer but it just to hard to find maybe? Can anyone advice me because I'm still thinking the worst even though I have been told it's most certainly not cancer , what else could be causing the weight loss ?  And there doesn't seem to be anything irregular with blood tests and biopsy. Thank you

Sean Sean.

  • Hello seansean,

I think that you can be rather reassured by what the doctors have told you. The CT and MRI scans seem to be conclusive in showing that there is no sign of cancer. It's good that the doctors are being thorough though and that they are going to take another look just to make sure there is nothing wrong. I think given what you have been told and the fact that there isn't anything worrying with your blood tests or biopsy, it is highly unlikely it is related to cancer but it's great that they are being thorough and looking at scans again to double check everything.

Try if you can not to think the worst especially as you have been told it is most certainly not cancer. There are so many other things that could explain the weight loss and I hope that the doctor and the dietician will figure out what happened. You have lost a huge amount of weight and I can understand why you are worried and I keep everything crossed for you that you get some clarity soon on what has caused this weight loss.

I hope that you will hear from others here who have been in a similar place before and that they will come and share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
