Worried of tumour in base of skull

I have had a shooting pain and pain at the base of my left  skull that radiates up above my left ear skull area. It is particularly bad when I tilt my head to the left and I am conscious of driving or turning my head to the left. I don't have any other symptoms as such. I have had it now for 10 weeks and it is getting me down. I have seen my GP who has requested an MRI and bloods.  I am worried and scared as if it is an injury (I am not aware of doing anything that would have caused it) why hasn't it cleared up?

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing pain. It's understandable that after 10 weeks it's getting you down and that you're feeling anxious about what may be responsible for your symptoms.

It's good to hear that your GP has already referred you for some investigations and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment.

We know that waiting for appointments and results can be a difficult time for many people. Sometimes it can help to talk things through and I wonder if you might find it useful to chat with one of our nurses? If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040 and I'm sure they will be happy to offer any support that they can.

I do hope that you have some answers soon and that things settle and improve for you.

    Best wishes,
