Fluid in womb lining

I had a vaginal ultrasound as I had post menopausal bleed (just once,) smear was completely normal . I have fluid in lining of the womb and have to have another scan from another consultant as a second opinion  I refused a hysteroscopy unless I get a general anaesthetic. I'm worried I have cancer now but as my smear result was clear should I be worried ,?

  • Hello Shaz51

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently that have needed investigating. It's good to hear that your cervical screening results didn't give any cause for concern although with it's understandable you're worried about the ultrasound results.

Did the hospital tell you how long you might have to wait for the repeat scan and second opinion? Hopefully, it won't be too long and the Consultant will be able to give you some reassurance. Do talk to them about your concerns both about further investigations and the results.

Keep in touch Shaz51 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • I was seen on 29th August and  said she would put an urgent request for second opinion and scan my appointment date is 3rd ,October I'm no longer worrying. If it needs fixed then I will just get on with it refused a hysteroscopy without anaesthetic said I wanted a general then was told but it could be a long time maybe up to six months!  So if it does end up suspicious and needing surgery I would like to think I would get treated quite quick . Thanks for replying and will let you k ow what happens x
