Failed colonoscopy

Hi went for Colonscopy today following abnormal 

Qfit and calprotection result 

however it had to be abandoned due to being

unable to go any further with the scope 

Doctor was concerned he might perforate

My Bowel . He couldn't say if Polyps are there or lesions 

as he didn't get very far .

I've now to have a CT Colonscopy bowel..

has this happened to anyone else 

please help .. need some advice and support 

so worried of what happens next

  • I'm really sorry to hear your colonoscopy had to be abandoned RosieJen but I hope it helps to know that this has happened to quite a few of our members as well so you're not alone and I'm sure some of them will stop by soon to offer you their support and advice.

    You can find out more about the CT colonography you'll be having on our website but if you'd like to discuss what happened with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday (except bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very helpful and will do all they can to answer any questions you may have and put your mind at ease.

    update is I had CT Colonscopy today 

    however I couldn't have the Buscopan 

    as I felt unwell following the iodine 

    drink the night before ..

    blood pressure was extremely high and I had 

    irregular heart beat , flutters .

    which lasted for a hour or so after drinking it ..

    hooefully the CT Will show could pictures without

    the Buscopan ..

    I had to have three taken as part of my bowel 

    didn't show up I had to lie on my right side for this and more 

    Air put into my bowel .

    that did concern me ..

    im now very worried waiting for the result ..

    I really hope I don't have to go through this again 

    anxiously waiting on result now ...
