10 week wait for skin biopsy results

Anyone else waited 10 weeks for skin biopsy results have rang hospital where I had it removed after being passed about  somebody answered with out even taking my name got told to just wait   
this was my second mole removed  first on my back came back  severely dysplastic nevus  had to have that done again to take more skin second mole on upper leg small black dot appear from know where and got bigger   This is now causing my anxiety  how long do they expect you to wait

    Hi,

    Sadly, biopsy results are averaging 10 weeks to be received. Add on to that the fact that consultants then discuss the results at a Multi Disciplinary Meeting before contacting the patient so I'm afraid your wait isn't uncommon. 

    When was your first mole removed? Are you still under dermatology for that it or did you have contact details for the Cancer Specialist Nurse then? If so, give them a ring. Otherwise, if you haven't heard in 2 weeks time, try ringing dermatology again. If you get the same unhelpful response, contact PALS (the hospital Patient Liaison Service) who may be able to help sort out the delay.
