SCARED AND CONFUSED

Hi All,

I have been having drenching night sweats for a few months now which only started at night, the sweats were to a point where i had to change my night clothes. the sweats are now disrupting my general day to day activities, i am unable to do the slightest thing without dripping in sweat! this has also made me very self concious.

I have been in touch with the GP since May and had many tests, 3 of my blood test results came back with a slight raise in Lymphocytes, my doctor did advise may be blood cancer!

any way i have since had more bloods done, not FBC and they are normal, had a CT scan and this was normal, however my sweats are still very much there, i have a painfull neck on the left side, my tummy swells, last night i looked 9 months pregnant, i have strange bruises on my legs and i am just constantly tired to the point i need to nap throughout the day when i can.

my husband wants me to have a second opinion but i am scared it is all in my head and there is nothing wrong with me, this is how my doctor made me feel today!

  • Welcome to the forum Kezza although I'm sorry about the symptoms you've been experiencing.

It sounds like you've been having quite a tough time with this lately and to not have any answers from the tests that have been carried out must be very frustrating.

As these symptoms are persisting, it would be best to go back to your GP. If you don't feel comfortable with the GP you've been seeing about this then, as your husband has mentioned, you could try seeking a second opinion with a different doctor.

Sadly, many of our members have been in this position as well so you are not alone and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer you their support and advice.

You know your body better than anyone else so do not doubt yourself Kezza. If you feel something isn't quite right, do keep pushing until you get the answers and peace of mind you're seeking at this time.

    All the best,
