I just had a heaviness no lump to feel , just went for a check as my freind was diagnosed and thought I was being paranoid , I still could not feel a lump on operation day , my lump was very small 1.6 early stage BC . I think a lot of lumps on here don't all turn out to be BC please try not to worry , but I no it's hard get a appointment and get it checked it's normally a 2 week wait , but if you can go to a private clinic tgey do all these tests sane day I knew more or less in 40 mins just had to wait 7 days for confirmation but was told it was suspicious in my 1st appointment . Hi everyone. I managed to get an appointment face to face this morning. The doctor did a check and confirmed the lump. I've now been referred to the breast clinic. I was able to book in online for 21.09.22 at 9.30 am. Does anyone know what to expect?

This was my experience not sure if all are the same 

my first appointment was a mammogram, then a chat with consultant , if they see anything on mzmogram they do a ultrasound and biopsy there and then , then attend the biopsy results 7 days later xx hope this helps xx

try not to worry hun , honestly a lot of lumps are not concerning, but we always think the worst we can't help it , just try and keep busy and I hope everything will be ok the waiting is the worst part xx a few of my friends have had lumps and they turn out to be cysts benign lumps lots of things xx 

hi i had exactly same thing as u in right side been today just turned out to be a cyst felt fixed to had ultra sound and had it drained honestly try not to worry can be a number of things 

Thank you Laura and Horse_girl. I'm trying, I really am. It's just so terrifying. I don't think it helps that I hurt my back last week and have ovulation pain. It sends anxiety in to overdrive!

My GP gave me the details. It had a referral number and password. I could have either called them or book online. 

If you haven't got one, are you able to call the GP again? I'm sorry you are having to wait xx

Thank you for letting me know, my GP sent me a letter with a phone number on which I phoned but it wasn't for the breast clinic, it was for other bits. The lady on the phone gave me the correct number I phoned them when I had been on the list for 2 weeks and was told that I was on the list and they would contact me. I phoned then Friday as its been a month and I still haven't heard anything the lady I spoke to said that all Septembers appointments have gone and they are waiting for Octobers rotas to come down. I feel at such a loss and more emotional.  The GP put me on antibiotics and said by the time I finish them I will hopefully have an appointment. I will be contacting them today because I can't go on much longer like this. I will keep you up dated xx

I really understand how you must be feeling I waited days for mine and felt like the world was uoside down a month is long , can you ask if you can be seen at another breast clinic maybe in another town if they have available appointments sooner , how long have you been waiting already in total ? 

I'm so sorry you haven't been seen yet. It must be so stressful. 

Can you go back to the GP? He said that he couldn't book the appointment. My letter said the phone line and online appointments were the same so they advised the online route for ease.

I've been waiting a month, on Friday it will be 5 weeks that I have been on the list and waiting. I am in Newport South Wales. Its been an awful month. I am going to the doctors again in the morning to get her to check my lump again as its soo painful. I have emailed my gp and the NHS putting it right people to express my concern so hopefully I hear soon. I under stand completely that they are busy but for a 2 week referral to be waiting nearly 5 weeks is awful xx

I will also ask tomorrow if they can get me seen sooner at another clinic and let you know how I get on x

Its soo stressful and i'm really hormonal at the moment too. I'm never really weepy but these past 5 weeks i've been crying lots, more during my cycle. I'm usually collected all the time. I am going back to the gp in the morning. Where abouts are you in the uk? As the phone number I was given was for cardiology but they gave me the number. 

It just seems to be alot of pushing and fighting on my part and i'm emotionally/mentally spent now x

Yes, it sounds like you are really having to push them. Let me know how you get on with the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully, you will get to where you need.

How are you getting on? Have you been referred yet? 

Just an update. I went for my appointment this morning. The surgeon couldn't feel the lump but I was laid down. As soon as I sat up, the lady doing the ultra sound could feel it. She scanned the area and said it looked like fat necrosis or a bruise. She was going to do a biopsy and was expecting to see blood to confirm her suspicion. If it was breast tissue in the biopsy, she would be unsure of what the lump was. The lump was just tissue  

She did 2 biopsies and put a marker in. I have an appointment to go back on 03.10.2022 for the results. The sonographer was really honest and said she was on the fence. It presented like fat necrosis but she couldn't be sure with the biopsy. She scanned the rest of the breast and was confident there were no further issues in the breast or lymph nodes (a positive).

I'm just really shaken by it and have another wait. Anyone with a similar experience (good or otherwise).

I was referred 5 weeks ago will be 6 weeks on Friday. I haven't been given a date for my appointment yet. I did contact my doctors when she phoned the breast clinic they said that over 40s get and appointments straight away where as under 40s have to wait 6 weeks or longer before they are contacted about an appointment. On Friday I will be phoning up to see if I have been given an appointment or if I am still waiting. I am still abit all over the place, some days are better than others and I'm not 100% sure if I have felt something under my breast (same one my lump is in) too scared to check again at the minute it felt like a little bead sort of thing. But I will check again in a few days just to make sure. 

You are so brave; I'm glad that the lump was just tissue and i'm glad that you know when you will get the results for the biopsies. You have been very brave through this. If you want a chat i'm here. Xx

Thank you, that's really kind. I'll drop you a message. The sonographer wasn't expecting to see breast tissue so was on the fence. She said it could be something, but it also could be nothing to worry about. The only way to know for sure is when the biopsy results come back. I think that un-nerved me more. I was hoping to hear from others that had a similar lump and what their diagnosis was.

Yes I've been back and forth the doctors every other week, to get re checked ect. I have been phoning the breast clinic every 2 weeks. I will be phoning them again on Friday. 

No problem at all. Drop me a message any time. I will keep you updated with when I hear something. Fingers crossed I get an appointment soon. I did ask about a cancellation list and was told that cancelled appointments get offered to the next person on the list.

I bet that un-nerved you, fingers crossed others who have had a similar lump get back to you on this thread. I have everything crossed for you that it is good news for you.

I am doing ok just abit drained with chasing everything up, its the fear of not knowing when my appointment will be and not knowing what this is, but for now I am focusing on getting the appointment date. I have been trying to keep myself busy I make wax melts and enjoy going for walks so using that to distract while I am waiting for this appointment.
